There's Something About Puppies At Their Own Prom That Will Make You Smile

These rescue dogs sure had a barking good time at their prom!

The animals from the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California got to celebrate in style at their sixth annual Puppy Prom.

All of the rescue canines at the event are either up for adoption or were found a forever home through the animal center.

The adorable pups even got their own corsages, opportunity drawings, and prom photos to make the event official, thanks to the canine adopters and adoptees at the local San Diego-area restaurant Casa Sol y Mar

It looks like everyone involved had a tail-wagging good time, Cinco De Mayo-style, including 2018’s Best Dressed Puppy Prom King and Queen.

A "pretty in pink" rescue named Sadie, who had survived a coyote attack, was crowned this year’s "Princess" and a recent rescue named Pluto, decked out in an adorable tiny tuxedo, was crowned this year’s "Prince." The top prizes went to "2018 King" Schnoodle rescue "Ruffles el Rei" dressed in his best in mariachi duds, and "2018 Queen" Chihuahua-terrier blend Suki who donned a Spanish dancer outfit with a matching flamenco-fanned stroller.

The Puppy Prom was once again free to attend for all Helen Woodward Animal Center Alumni, as well as other rescue-supporting guests.

Puppy Prom 2018 was picture perfect! Thank you again to @casasolymar for hosting the canine social event of the season ----

All money raised from the contests and opportunity drawings, as well as 20% of all Casa Sol y Mar food and drink orders, went directly to the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center.
