NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Ethan, Jazmyine and Jack:

Ethan (# 74977) A volunteer writes: Ethan is a gorgeous young dog, with the shiniest brown coat. His face is perfectly split with a white line that runs up to his perpetually wrinkled brow. And he is elegant with long runners' legs. Eager to stretch them he tried out a slow trot a few times on our first walk together. On our second visit, well, we dressed Ethan up like a taco! He was a star getting into his Halloween costume, and showed off his perfect "sit" as we snapped pictures. Now that it’s the holiday season, long-stay Ethan was first in line to meet Santa! He was bouncy as he chased his toys around the yard and made us belly laugh with his antics. On our way in and out he stopped to greet all his friends, which seemed to be everyone he's ever met! If you are looking for someone to stretch your legs with, and take to costume parties, run to Brooklyn ACC to meet Ethan today!

Jazmyine (# 80804) A volunteer writes: All I Want For Christmas Is A Hand For Rubbing And A Nose For Nose Kissing And A Purpose For Purring And A Person Of My Own For Loving I wrote to Santa and Mrs. Claus wrote right back and said, if I'm a good girl and showed everyone how sweet and lovely I am, she promised my wishes would come true. Just in case you haven't made your way to the shelter yet and you're reading this, let me tell you a little more about myself, to hurry you up. I'm a petite tuxedo girl in my early 30's (8 years old in cat years) and I keep a really tidy kennel. When you stop by, I will welcome you with open paws. I love to be petted and I love company when I am eating, and I love most of all being petted while I am eating. In fact, I lose my appetite when you stop petting me. If you hear a whisper in your ear, that's Mrs. Claus telling you that I'm waiting for you. I am so excited thinking about our new life together!! Thank you Mrs. Claus, and Mr. Santa too.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Jack (# 83344) A volunteer writes: The story of Jack and the tree is just unfolding, and if you want to play a part in it, you better hurry up to the bunny room in Brooklyn to adopt this little snowflake of a bun. Jack is an easygoing gentleman who is dreaming of a new friend to spoil him. And what a friend he would make, hopping through your house and making you happy. The best thing about Jack besides his easy rabbitness is his little baby mohawk that he wears right between his ears. I wanted to kiss and pet that mohawk for hours and he generously let me, though he asked for his reward in the form of some juicy lettuce leaves and a tiny bit of carrot. If you are like me and like baby mohawked snowflakes, Jack might be just the right companion for you.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adopt@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and "A#", or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

To adopt an animal, you must have a valid photo ID, be 18 years of age or older, and bring proof of current address. ACC adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an identification tag, a collar, and a certificate for a free initial exam at a participating veterinarian. Plus, for the remainder of 2019, all adopters will receive a $50 gift card to Petco! Enjoy a holiday adoption gift thanks to a generous donor!
