New York (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable animals looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Sahara, Cheetah & Theo:

Sahara (14999) An ACC Volunteer Writes: “Like a big white marshmallow, Sahara is in her kennel, up front looking for a human with a leash. That would be me!! She's absolutely lovely and as we walked down the street. A stranger stopped us asking about her and saying, ‘Someone is going to be so lucky to adopt her’, and we couldn't agree more. She's gorgeous, Rubenesque, tail waggy, affectionate, sweet and easy. Sahara is a big soft mush, head in my lap for petting, tail wagging, easy girl who has the best smile and an adorable waddle as she walks. Her coat is soft and clean, she's clearly been fed with love, and cuddling is a specialty. Sahara is at that perfect age where the puppy and adolescent crazies are long over, easy playtime is appreciated, and cuddling and naps are a requirement. Considering that she lost her home, her family and her brother all at once, she's doing remarkably well, the sign of a well-balanced pup.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street (between 1st and 2nd Aves.) New York, NY 10029.

Cheetah (21819 - photo above) An ACC Volunteer Writes: “An aura of her wild relatives surrounds this pretty, friendly, confident girl. Take her home, and every day you'll be able to admire her ancestral roots from across the room and her domesticity when she's snuggled up against you on your couch.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street (between 1st and 2nd Aves.) New York, NY 10029.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Theo (11646) An ACC Volunteer Writes: “Theo is a spunky, fun-loving bun who loves to run around, binky in the air and zestily enjoy a good rabbit chew toy. Of course, Theo is also down to relax and enjoy some human affection, after he's had a nice run-around.” Available for adoption at 2336 Linden Boulevard Brooklyn NY 11208.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adopt@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and "A#", or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day!
