NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

Plus, The "Say My Name" promo is back! ACC is partnering with the hilarious and compassionate @Joe_Gatto to promote adoption: #GattoGoAdopt! Did you know that Joe adopted his dog Tartufo from ACC? ACC will be waiving adoption fees for anyone that mentions Joe during the adoption process. The promotion runs from Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6 at all locations as well as this weekend’s Mobile Adoption events.

This week, we're featuring Pistachio, Shadow Moon and Moo:

Pistachio (77069) A volunteer writes: "Pistachio! Oh, am I nuts over this sweet, cinnamon boy. The first thing you should know about this angelic gentleman is that while he may be a distinguished 9 years young, he is absolutely young at heart. And speaking of - the key to sweet P's heart is yellow, round and fuzzy. That's right! For this boy, ball is life. He runs, he hops, he dives, he dips! And funniest of all, carries one ball gently across the yard in his mouth while trying to scoop another in. And I dare you to not feel like a kid again yourself watching this joyful soul lose himself in play, his crinkled eyes smiling into the sun. Despite his love of playtime, Pistachio does need a little lift back into his kennel when it's time for a nap and has a few wobbles here and there as he walks. Seniors are our favorites, and this sugar-faced sweetheart is one of the best of the best, happy to sit at your feet and let your rub his velvet ears. There's no better combo than playful and mellow, silly and sweet, and no better gift than a senior's love. Oh, am I nuts over this sweet, cinnamon boy! And trust me - you will be too. Pistachio is waiting in adoptions at Brooklyn ACC:  2336 Linden Boulevard Brooklyn, NY 11208.

Shadow Moon (74826) A staff member writes: "Shadow Moon was ready to play when I first met him, then he was ready for some affection as I began to pet him as he reached in for more and started to head-butt for extra loving, afterwards he liked his space and decided he just wanted to lay down and relax for some time to himself. Shadowmoon will give you an extraordinary experience that is out of this world. Come see what he's like for yourself. Available at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th St.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Moo (75142) A volunteer writes: "She is black and white, she is hot, and she is chill. And I fell in love with her at first sight. Meet our Moo, a strikingly beautiful bunny lady with the eyes of a dear and a heart that just wants to love and be loved. Moo is a chill, classy bunny lady who enjoys being petted and adored on. In between all those snuggles, she gets in some expressive binkies, but snuggling is really what she likes. And chilling. Given her calm nature, Moo would make a good first time bunny home rabbit and would probably do well as a partner bunny as well. She would do best as a free-roam rabbit who is allowed to chill with you on the sofa and under the dinner table. Come meet Moo at the Care Center in Brooklyn!"

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adopt@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and ID number, or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located.
