NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Peewee, Booboo and Mink:

Peewee (51155) An ACC volunteer writes: "Simply majestic, Peewee is the kind of dog that inspires awe at the first glance. But wait, spend some time with him and you'll find an amazingly, incredibly goofy guy whose endearing qualities know no bounds. A perfect gentleman on the leash, his excellent manners extend to remaining dignified when offered yummy roast beef which he simply can't resist! He's not the type that will crowd you off the couch. Even when playful, he doesn't mind sharing the small "stuffies" which kind of look ridiculous against his regal head. No wonder this exceptional senior gathers accolades and love from all around. What Peewee would cherish most now is a new family to love and provide him care. Could that person be you?” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

Booboo (49953) An ACC staff member writes: Booboo is a very sweet bunny who would be a loving addition to any home. Come in to the Manhattan Animal Care Center to meet this great bun! A volunteer writes: Booboo is a medium-sized black and white Rex male and a real sweetie. This guy is very unassuming and not particularly assertive - he just loves to have his velvety coat petted! Booboo is a bit overweight, with an unusually large dewlap for a boy, so he'll need an attentive home where he can follow a proper diet and get plenty of exercise. He may get a little help with the exercise part: he has an interesting pattern of stripes on his upper back that look a bit like wings” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Mink  (50888) An ACC volunteer writes: “'I'm just a soul whose intentions are good...please don't let me be misunderstood," the 1960s song goes, and I think it's exactly what Mink might be singing right now if he could. His former person had good things to say about him, telling us that Mink is friendly (though shy with strangers), affectionate, mellow, and has a medium energy level. Unfortunately the kids in his previous home had allergies, so he didn't get to interact with them, and now he finds himself looking for a new forever family. During his behavior exam, he was somewhat skittish, but he angled for treats and allowed petting while he was eating. When I met him the other day, he stayed calm and beamed those warm, inquisitive eyes at me before getting up and diving into his kibble. I get the feeling Mr. Mink is a people-loving cat who misses being in a home and feels too out of sorts right now to show off all he has to offer. If you know what it's like to feel out of place and like no one understands you, consider meeting handsome Mr. Mink today!” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at [email protected] with the animal’s name and "A#", or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

Plus, the ACC Snowfall Sneezes promotion is underway! Just like the Summertime Sniffles and Harvest Healing promotions, all under-the-weather borougbreds will have their adoption fees waived.

You can also meet your new best friend at ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center, which travels throughout the city. (Note: dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated as quickly as possible.  View an Interactive adoption event at http://nycacc.org/adoptionevents.)
