NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Pearl, Latke and Sam-I-Am:

Pearl (49860) An ACC staff member writes: "Pearl is a perfect name for this beautiful cat. She is very special. She truly acts like a little lady. Even the way she sits in her kennel makes you think of royalty. Not only is Pearl beautiful she is very sweet as well. Pearl enjoys being pet and spoken to. This very special cat is located at our Staten Island Center, so why not come by and meet this princess today.” Available for adoption at Staten Island ACC: 3139 Veterans Road West, Staten Island.

Latke (48619) An ACC volunteer writes: "Some dogs seem to smile with their whole bodies, radiate love with their eyes, and understand the universe in a way people just might not be capable of. Enter Latkes, a most wonderful dog in need of a forever home at this most wonderful time of the year. This 4 year old boy quickly lit up my heart with his friendliness, patience, gentle gaze, and happy tail-wagging. Latkes is perfectly sized to share a cozy couch, relax in a small yard, play in a pile of leaves, and stroll down city streets comfortably on a leash. People passing by couldn't help but smile at him. Latkes appears housebroken. He seemed interested in other animals, but not aggressive. He can refocus well with treats and kind words. In fact, every time I told him he was a "good boy" he looked right up at me with those soulful eyes, and looked right into me with such understanding and gratitude. Latkes will brighten any home for the holidays and well beyond. Meet this dear dog today at the Manhattan Care Center". Latke is  available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Sam-I-Am (45175) An ACC staff member writes: "Sam-I-Am is a medium-large tan and white lop with a super bossy attitude. This girl does not appreciate having her space invaded, and will growl in protest. She's not shy, just fussy. She'll approach to check you out and pass judgment on you, then go back to whatever critically important thing she was doing (making green eggs and ham?) before you rudely interrupted. Sam-I-Am's name suggests a healthy sense of self, which is quite fitting -- she will always be a bunny who knows exactly what she wants. She'll do best in a bunny-savvy home where she can train her people on precisely how to treat her and thereby develop trust in them.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.
