NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Nena, Oreo and Musclebob Buffpants:

Musclebob Buffpants (78284) A volunteer writes: “Some words that have been used to describe this absolute unit include: handsome, hunk, meatball, and stud. But for now he goes by Musclebob Buffpants, and he greeted me politely at the front of his kennel for some playtime this weekend. Outside, he showed off his easy temperament and readily soaked up our fawning attention as if it were the most natural thing. And with his gorgeous gray and white coat, perfectly oversized head, and wrinkles for days, why wouldn't it be? Musclebob took treats eagerly but gently, with a happily wagging tail. He knows how to sit and give paw, and with his love of treats could probably learn a lot more! You may not find him in a pineapple under the sea, but you will find him at Brooklyn ACC! Come meet this handsome man today, and bring treats!”

Nena (72797) A volunteer writes: “At first when I opened her door she seemed a little timid. I moved slowly with her and before I knew it she was purring and rubbing up against me. She became the affectionate cat that we all want. I can see that she will be an amazing family member. Oh yes, and she likes treats.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC!

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Oreo (75160) A volunteer writes: Oreo is a small Silver Marten/dwarf mix who's as cute as a button. This little darling girl is very sweet and loves to be petted -- she's especially fond of cheek rubs. While you pet her, she closes her eyes and goes into dreamland like a sleeping baby, using her floofy dewlap as a big pillow for her tiny head. Oreo has a classic Silver Marten coat -- dark brown with grayish-white accents -- and a cute little round face that's to die for. Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adopt@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and ID number, or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

ACC has lots of guinea pigs available for adoption too! Check them out at nycacc.org/guineapigs!

You can also meet your new best friend at ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center, which travels throughout the city. (Note: dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated as quickly as possible.  View an Interactive adoption event at http://nycacc.org/adoptionevents.)
