NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

Plus, Saturday August 17 is another #ClearTheShelters event. Stop by the Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Staten Island Care Centers and go home with your new boroughbred buddy with WAIVED adoption fees! Adoptions will begin at 10am!

This week, we're featuring Mary, Liberty and Farfelle:

Mary (71163) An ACC Staff Member writes: “Mary just like Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way. Our Mary is super sweet just like a spoonful of sugar. She is a little shy when you first meet her but she warms up and has no problem sitting with you on a nice sunny day. Mary is the type of girl who would like to take it easy with the people she loves. Come to the Staten Island location to meet this beautiful girl today!" Available for adoption at Staten Island ACC: 3139 Veterans Road West.

Liberty (67986) An ACC Volunteer writes: “When I met Liberty, I was immediately struck by how bright the white and how shiny the black colors of his wispy coat are. He's rather tall and lanky, which is unusual in cats. Maybe because his name is Liberty, he reminds me of Abraham Lincoln. Even more striking, though, was the way he rubbed his cheeks vigorously back and forth against the front of his kennel, giving me no choice but to open the door and let him rub his cheeks and head against my hands. For a mature fellow, he's all vim and vigor, happy and friendly, a real peach. He's a character and a loverboy, and he can't wait to meet you!” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Farfelle (70897) An ACC volunteer writes: " Farfalle is the plural of the Italian world farfalle and that means butterfly. Our sweet Farfalle has a lot in common with a butterfly - she is extremely beautiful, playful, but a little bit on the shy side as she may not have had the opportunity yet to learn that humans can be really good friends. She is certainly curious and will come when you sit with her in the pen to check out who you are. If she thinks you are a friend, she will enjoy soft pets of her velvety rex fur. So maybe she is still in metamorphosis to become the shiny butterfly bunny that is certainly in her and is just waiting to show with the right human friend. Such a sweet bunny soul in such a beautiful body - I just want her to jump high and hope you will come meet us in the bunny room in Brooklyn to fall in love with beautiful Farfalle.” Available for adoption at Brooklyn ACC: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn.
