NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Hazel, Lilo and Mr. Gray:

UPDATE: Hazel has been adopted! Yay! Follow her on Instagram at @thecutemonsterwalkers!

Hazel (50366) Hazel is breaking down here at the shelter, and won't come out of her kennel. It's heartbreaking, because she is such a good girl with people, and is usually very happy and playful. We are actively searching for a New Hope partner or member of the public to adopt or foster this gal. Please, it’s been 47 days and she needs to find a home to decompress. For more information please email adopt@nycacc.org or come by our Manhattan Care Center today! Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

Lilo (52922) A staff member writes: "Lilo is the cutest, most friendly cat you could ever meet! She loves to be pet and loves to be held even more. Her special skills include napping and snuggling. Lilo is very easy going and could be the best addition to your family. Come to the Staten Island location to meet the kitty of the year” Available for adoption at Staten Island ACC: 3139 Veterans Road West, Staten Island.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Mr. Gray (52550) An ACC Volunteer writes: “ Fifty Shades of Grey (2015), Fifty Shades Darker (2017), Fifty Shades Freed (2018), Fifty Shades of Mr. Gray (2019). Wait, what? Yup, it is 2019 and we are proud to introduce our most handsome bunny, who is not only a main character in a novel (written by Mr. Gray), but will also be featuring in a new movie to be released this year and directed by (of course) himself. The story? "Mr. Gray is looking for and romantically finds a loving indoor forever home." The problem is, he cannot do the movie without a co-leading role / character -- that is where you come in! Mr. Gray has the softest Rex fur, loves petting and cheek rubs, is extremely intelligent (he figured out how to unlace my shoe in about 1.5 minutes) and even kisses back after a while of happily receiving cheek-rubs. Mr. Gray is in his young middle years, so he is a bit slower exploring, but he has a lot of energy and very good litterbox skills. Now, will you come and help him make that romantic movie with a very happy ending become reality?”  Available for adoption at Brooklyn ACC: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adopt@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and "A#", or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

You can also meet your new best friend at ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center, which travels throughout the city. (Note: dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated as quickly as possible.  View an Interactive adoption event at http://nycacc.org/adoptionevents.)
