New York (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

Plus, the “Summertime Sniffles” Adoption Promotion is still going, with waived adoption fees for all under the weather cats and dogs. Adoptions include a special "Get Well Care Package" including a $30 petco gift card, toys, treats, and bedding. Interested in seeing which animals are part of this new promotion? Visit nycacc.org and use our adoption search — all eligible animals will have a special “Summertime Sniffles” overlay on their featured photo.

This week, we're featuring  Damon, Zoe & Snowy:

Zoe (34320) A volunteer writes: "Zoe is such an amazing kitty! You just can't pass her kennel and not stop to take a look at her. You may think that she seems uninterested at first, but if you give her the chance and a little time, she becomes so open to petting, starts purring and headbutts you gently. She is also a natural for the camera! She will pose and stop for a few seconds as if she knew you were getting the photo shoot ready. But do not be fooled by her affectionate, calmly self, she also loves play time and goes crazy for her feathered wand.” Available at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street (between 1st and 2nd Aves.) New York, NY 10029.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Snowy (28598) A volunteer writes: "Snowy is a New Zealand White female with a very large body and an equally outsized personality! This girl gets very excited as soon as she detects your presence -- she'll stare at you eagerly and shove her nose through the cage bars to get your attention. She's very mighty as well as frisky, and may lunge out of enthusiasm, so it can be a challenge to calm her down to the point where you can relax together. However, if you can finagle a way to start stroking her head, she'll succumb very quickly to petting and will tooth-purr contentedly. Snowy's ginormous ears suggest that she could be younger than her officially-posted age and may even grow bit bigger. In any case, she's a handful of rabbit and is probably best suited to an experienced bunny home." Available for adoption at Brooklyn ACC: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn NY 11208

Damon  (34652) An ACC volunteer writes: " Cute as a button and cuddly as a teddy bear, Damon's a tiny guy with a big heart whose absolute favorite place to be is soaking up the snuggles as he nestles on top of his person. The minute he sees a bench, he's on it and quickly turning his best 'puppy dog eyes' toward whomever is nearby to beg for some lap time. At the end of our own cuddle session I put him on the ground and reached for the gate, but before we'd even taken a step Damon had jumped back up on the bench again and was giving me a look that said loud and clear where he'd rather stay! A good walker who sits on command and takes treats softly, he rocked his behavior assessment and would literally fit into any family with ease, though a home with no four-legged siblings would suit him best. The King of Cuddles is ready to fill your life with love. Once you hold Damon in your arms, I guarantee you'll never want to let him go.” Available at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street (between 1st and 2nd Aves.) New York, NY 10029.
