NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring Celeste, Zoey and Lara Croft!

Zoey (45575) An ACC volunteer writes: "I would never miss taking Zoey out when I am at the care center. She is such a beauty, a lively and friendly youngster who loves balls and toys. Zoey is a little thin but her dress is perfect, cinnamon in color. Her muscles ripple under her coat when she walks or runs. She looks powerful while elegant and graceful. Although she is very excited when she plays ball, jumping as high as the fence and running like a racing dog, Zoey is gently bouncy in playgroups, respecting the style, calm or rambunctious, of her peers. She likely counts a Boxer among her ancestors and is an athletic and upbeat gal who loves purposeful action. I can see this smart young lady holding a job if properly taught with love. Zoey slept with her finder's teen. Here too, she is sociable, affectionate, and looks for her caretakers' love and attention. Awesome Zoey is only ten months of age, is very lively and active and would love to have a new owner or family able to offer lots of activities. Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street, New York.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Celeste (44706) An ACC Volunteer Writes: "Celeste is a friendly and quietly confident cat who really enjoys being around people. She's a bigger girl, and looked so adorable when she curled herself into a tiny ball while I pet her head. She purred and purred as I pet her, and she also kneaded her paw... right on top of her other paw! Celeste is clearly creative and charming. All she needs now is a family!” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110th Street, New York.

Lara Croft (44552) An ACC  volunteer writes: “Lara Croft is a small, very pretty Silver Marten. This little lady is sweetly shy - she loves it when you pet her, but prefers that it take place in a safe, snug spot. She's still on the younger side (as evinced by her lean face and small stature) and she'll probably get a bit bigger - but she won't ever be a large rabbit. Lara Croft is a gorgeous example of her breed, and has an especially nice big light brown patch on the nape of her neck - it's as though that spot is calling out for extra rubs.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 East 110thStreet, New York
