NEW YORK (1010WINS) 1010 WINS has teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

In fact, ACC's shelters are packed to the max and so they've teamed up with pop sensation MAX to urge New Yorkers to adopt a boroughbred. He adopted his dog Wink at an ACC Mobile Adoption event and has been a strong supporter ever since. This weekend anyone who says MAX's name during the adoption process will have all adoption fees waived. On top of that, MAX has agreed to make a personal thank you video for anyone that adopts using his promotion!

This week, we're featuring Baraboo, BooBoo and Speedy:

Baraboo (66550) Meet Baraboo, the adorable munchkin hippo. This brindle boy loves all people and gives the best paws! If you’re lucky, he might even give you a high five. Stop by Brooklyn ACC and ask to give him a treat — he takes them in the most delicate, adorable way! Available for adoption at Brooklyn ACC: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn.

Watch video of Baraboo HERE.

Booboo (58219) A volunteer writes: You love to watch cats grooming themselves. How fascinating. You wish you could do it too. Ah ha, you're in lick, I mean luck. Boo Boo is a licker. She will groom herself and she will groom you too. She'll lick your face, your nose, your hands. She just loves to share the grooming experience with her best friends. Now that's bonding! Why not give this four year old cutie a lick. I mean a look. Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th Street, Manhattan.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Speedy (65810) An ACC volunteer writes: "Definition of "binky": happy bunny jump, often high and in full speed, sometimes bunny turns 90, 180, or 360 degrees during the jump. Now I tell you about my conversation with Speedy. Me: "Speedy, want to play with the ball?" Speedy: "No, let's binky." Me: "Speedy, want to cuddle?" Speedy: "No, let's binky." Me: "Speedy, want a slice of banana?" Speedy: "No, let's binky." So we binkied. A lot. I mean a real lot. And then we did all the other stuff, we cuddled, we shared banana, and we checked out the new ball. Speedy is a young male rabbit on the large side and he is extremely handsome. He is the absolute best binkyer I have ever met, and if someone asks me in the future for the definition of "binky", I will simply say "Speedy". If you need a binkier in your life (pair binkying is going to be in the Olympics soon), come meet Speedy at the Care Center in Brooklyn!” Available for adoption at Brooklyn ACC: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn.
