Prayers For Jenna: High School Student Suffering from Cancer Crowned High School Prom Queen
By Kayla Jardine/Joe Cingrana
Jenna Bodiford has been battling cancer and wasn't prepared to have a royal surprise at her prom.
The 14-year-old Barnwell, South Carolina student was diagnosed in September with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma which affects her muscles. Jenna has only been able to attend high school intermittently due to the intense treatments -- but the teen just couldn’t miss her high school prom. After her school called the Bodiford family to invite Jenna to the event personally, a group of friends even went to the family's home beforehand to help get her ready for the big night.
Escorted to the dance by one of her brothers, Jenna was given a tiara and incredible memories that will last forever after being called up and crowned as honorary prom queen -- a surprise she was never expecting.
To learn more about Jenna's fight, you can follow along with a blog created by her father Brett here.
