One Size Does Not Fit All: 'Project Runway' Host Tim Gunn Opens Up About Diversity, Inclusion & His Hopes For Season 17

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Fashion expert Tim Gunn is on a mission.

"We need women who are people that women everywhere can relate to."

That's Gunn's message for the new season of Project Runway. Gunn says he hopes season 16 served as a reminder that there's more than just one body type.

"One size does not fit all and we need to address women who are larger than a size 12, which most retailers want to ignore. They want to pretend that that doesn't happen, but it does. Season 16 we had models that ranged in size from 2-to-22, and everyone looked fabulous. And it was a great education for the designers."

Gunn joined our Rebecca Granet on The Trend to lend some interior design tips with the help of Command products, but also dished on the upcoming season.

"The showrunners, Sara Rea and I really want the same models to come back. We want to actually brand the show with these models and have them season after season because the audience loved them, our ratings were up 15 percent."
