Dulce Jaimes couldn't have ever imagined the incredible gift her third-grade teacher would make for her over spring break.

Dulce was born with her left arm ending just below her elbow. After 40 hours of trial and error Eric Demeri, her teacher at the Sunshine Elementary School in Lee County, Florida, was able to use a 3D printer to create a customized prosthetic arm for his special student.

Demeri, Dulce's science lab teacher, recently started up a 3D printing club at the school, which is where this act of kindness got its start.

"We were coming up with ideas on how we could help other students or even the teachers here at school," Demeri says. "And then one day it just hit me that maybe I can print an arm for Dulce."

In a video posted by the school, Dulce's mother Ana Bustos also explains how she wishes her daughter could do some of the things other children can do -- and says Dulce has even expressed her longing to be able to take part in tasks that her peers have no trouble with.

The incredible and selfless surprise from the teacher left Dulce and her mother emotional and completely speechless. "I never expected to see my daughter grab anything, says Bustos. "There were just so many feelings inside of me. I can't say 'thank you' enough."
