1010 WINS is proud to be the official radio station of the free annual event that will feature savings on fitness memberships, raffle prizes, and performances from the casts of various Broadway shows, including Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Band's Visit and Anastasia. The Big Apple Circus will also perform.

1010 WINS' spoke with two of the festival's organizers, Ann Hoyt and Yana Stotland, about the cultural center's mission and what it offers.

"There is something for everyone at every age," Hoyt and Stotland told 1010 WINS' Kyle McMorrow.

"Having music in your life does make a difference," Stotland added when talking about the school of music which will turn 100 next year.

And what we can expect from Sunday's event?

"We're pretty much all set ... we have wonderful shows being represented on the main stage," Stotland said. "In addition we have two faculty member groups -- two quartets performing jazz standards, world music. Our dance dept is going to be represented with artists from their season and give us a little taste of what is to come at the Harkness Dance Festival."

When asked what street fest like, Stotland said, "One way to talk about it is traditional street fest: you have the grilled corn and you have the zeppolis and you have all this wonderful food, but in terms of what it represents for the 92nd Street Y, everything we do in the building comes out in the street."

Our own Sonia Rincon will again serve as the co-master of ceremonies at the festival’s main stage.

Street Fest runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Lexington Avenue between 79th and 94th Streets.
