The Hayes family has been posting clips to a video blog where they are creating Disney memories and raising awareness for alopecia -- an autoimmune disease which attacks the body's hair follicles causing the hair to come out, often in clumps, however, the amount of hair loss is different for everyone with the disease.

5-year-old Malia who has alopecia shaved her dad Zach's head so the two can match after the little girl was feeling down when she overheard some kids commenting about her baldness at the park.

Zach tells that his daughter’s confidence improved immediately after shaving his head and he believes that she now has a greater understanding that it’s absolutely alright to look different.

"The other kids weren't meant to be hurtful," Zach says, "but it brought her spirits down a bit being labeled differently. I thought it would lift her spirits if I showed her it's ok to be bald by doing it myself. She really seems to enjoy it now. She rubs my head a lot and tells me it looks very handsome and keeps talking about how much fun it was and how happy she is that we are twins.

"What I really hope people will take away from this is that it's perfectly ok to be yourself no matter what you look like. I think it's important to show the world that there isn't some specific way you have to look in order to fit in. We are who we are."
