3 To See At ACC: meet Red, Trinidad and Peeps

December 14, 2018 - 1:56 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) 1010 WINS teams up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable #Boroughbreds looking for loving homes in the city's shelters, and, where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

Introducing the the Twelve Strays of Christmas!  Follow ACC on social media to see a newly featured Stray of Christmas every day: FacebookInstagram & Twitter.

This week's 3 To See At ACC includes the first 'Stray of Christmas': Red!

Red (49860)

It’s the first stray of Christmas

and we’d like for you to see

our pup, Red, from Brooklyn ACC!

Meet Red, a 4 year-old generously sized Brooklyn Boroughbred. Red has been at ACC since the beginning of November and has become a staff favorite during his stay. Not a huge fan of the feline kind, Red would prefer to be in a dog friendly home serving as the King of the Castle. Please come meet this guy today at our Brooklyn Care Center: 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s  three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Trinidad (50154) An ACC staff member writes: "What can I say, I'm a sucker for all-black cats. Dressed like a moody poet (think Patti Smith), Trinidad's tiny meow calls me over to him. I'm in love immediately. Irrational thoughts fill my head - can I reasonably adopt another cat? Where would I put him? Will my fiancé leave me if I do? How many pets is too many? But in my heart I know he's destined for another home, and whoever's home he ends up in is a very lucky person indeed." Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at adoption@nycacc.org with the animal’s name and “A#”, or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

Peeps (46242) An ACC staff member writes: "Entering the rabbit room, I am greeted by a tiny, slightly high-pitched bunny voice: "Oh, hi! Did you bring cilantro? Look at me, I am a unicorn today!" That voice unmistakably belongs to Peeps. And on she goes all afternoon, chatting and giggling: "What are you doing? Can I come out and help? Look at my lipstick!" Peeps is, of course, not wearing any lipstick, but is the proud owner of the prettiest pink little bunny mouth. Peeps loves playtime and is a real gem of a rabbit princess. She is friendly, likes to be petted and to interact with humans. Untypical for a unicorn and princess, I must say that she eats her greens in a most unlady-like fashion, but that is just because she likes them sooooooo much (did I just hear a bunny giggle again?) Peeps would do well in a home that showers her with attention and can let her interact and explore for long periods of time in the mornings and evenings -- or all day long if schedules allow. She has very good bunny manners and could do well as a free-roam rabbit.” Available for adoption at Manhattan ACC: 326 E 110th St, Manhattan.

You can also meet your new best friend at ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center, which travels throughout the city. (Note: dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated as quickly as possible.  Also check http://nycacc.org/Events.htm)
