NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Hilary Duff announced in June that she's expecting a girl with boyfriend Matthew Koma, and her co-star on the TV Land romantic comedy "Younger," Nico Tortorella, is thrilled for her.

"She's got that bump going!" Tortorella told 1010 WINS' "The Trend with Rebecca Granet."

But the 29-year-old -- who has come out as gender-fluid -- was left scratching their head after Duff revealed her baby's gender.

"I'm still trying to contemplate what a gender reveal is," Tortorella said. "It's a girl, but I'm like what does that even mean, in my own gender queer politics."

The Illinois native said of Duff, "We've had lengthy conversations about queer theory and gender theory. Hilary is super progressive but also really traditional. And I respect and love that."

Off the set, Tortorella has released "All Of It Is You," a collection of poetry.

"It's about the collapsing of binaries and divisions and the ability to recognize the simultaneity between everyone and everything," Tortorella said of the book's title.

The actor-turned-poet, who spent 45 days writing the book, added, "It's about self-love and self-acceptance. I split the book into 3 sections: body, earth and universe. It's a celebration of home: The home that is our body, the home that is our earth, and the home that is this universe … I hope what people take away from this, is to take care of their homes."
