Young Catcher Goes Viral for Framing Pitch Well Above Batter's Head
(97.1 The Ticket) -- Being a baseball catcher is one of the toughest jobs in all of sports.
The strain put on a catcher's knees alone makes it an unenviable position. Throw in a few deflected balls, stray bats and extra equipment in the heat of summer. Don't forget the responsibility of helping your pitcher call a game and framing pitches to help him out. Suffice to say, it takes a special kind of person to be a catcher.
And it looks like this young kid is that special kind of person.
While it's not clear who this kid is or where he was playing, a young catcher is going viral on social media for his framing efforts on a pitch that was well above the batter's head. This guy had to jump up just to catch the ball, but he brought it right back down into the zone and held it steady in hopes of getting a strike.

Obviously, there was no chance of that happening. But kudos to the kid for not only the hops, but the ability to bring it down and freeze in one fluid motion. If he's got knees that will hold up, it looks like this guy is cut out to be a catcher for quite a while. He looks like a natural.
