NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Danica McKellar is best known for her roles on The Wonder Years and The West Wing. She's also a three-time New York Times bestseller, mathematician, and math education advocate.

The UCLA summa cum laude graduate says her book 'Do Not Open This Math Book' will help kids aged 6 to 8 with addition and subtraction -- the title is an ode to the kind of reverse psychology parents might need to employ to get their kids into math.

"I happen to know when you tell a 7-year-old not to do something, what do they do?" she said.

The book took her about three years to write.

McKellar said she would be open to a Wonder Years reboot, but only if it's done the right way. She worries that bringing back a show based on nostalgia could ruin fans' memories of the original run.

"If it were well written enough and it made sense, sure. I can't see it right now," she said.

Any reboot might hit a snag when it comes to her co-stars -- Fred Savage has said in the past that he isn't interested. The series is set in the 1960s, but ran from 1988 to 1993.
