LINDENHURST, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Richard Dixon, a 75-year-old Navy veteran, used his walker to over to the Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst on Wednesday.

He left the walker outside when he went inside to have breakfast, and when he came out it was gone.

The owner of the bakery, Thomas Lorch, checked his secruity camera and found footage of a couple women walking off with the walker.

He put the video on Facebook, and a short time later Suffolk County Police picked up 22-year-old Monica Newcomble and 42-year-old Heather Lauro -- both of Lindenhurst.

They've been charged with petty theft.

The walker was returned, but Dixon had already bought a new one. People who saw the video on Facebook were donating walkers -- bringing them to the bakery -- where the owner said he's thinking about donating the extras to a veterans home.
