Woman punched, shoved onto subway tracks by homeless man in Brooklyn: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 40-year-old woman was shoved onto the subway tracks after she was punched in Brooklyn in an unprovoked attack on Friday, according to a report from ABC-TV

The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. when a man approached the victim at the Borough Hall subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the report adds.

A 40-year-old bystander was also punched by the man.

He jumped onto the tracks to help the woman after he witnessed her attack.

The suspect fled the scene, but police cuffed him shortly after.

The suspect was identified as Franklin Ovenseri, who is believed to be homeless.

Both victims suffered minor injuries, ABC-TV reports.

The woman was taken to Methodist Hospital and the good Samaritan refused medical attention.
