NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man they say grabbed a woman by the neck in broad daylight before sexually assaulting and robbing her at a Washington Heights park.

The 28-year-old woman was walking around Highbridge Park, near Edgecombe Avenue and West 165 Street, at 3:15 p.m. last Thursday when she was attacked, police said.

The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect, who they believe is in his 20s, on Wednesday.

Police said the man grabbed the woman by her neck and forced her to perform a sex act on him.

The man then stole the woman’s jewelry and took off, police said.

The woman was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
