Cops: Woman attacked with bottle during Bronx robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was attacked with a glass bottle during a robbery in the Bronx, according to police.

The incident was reported at around 5:20 a.m. on Oct. 6 when an unidentified man approached the 68-year-old woman near White Plains Road and Lydig Avenue in Morris Park.

Police said the man grabbed the woman and demanded money.

He then struck the woman about six times with the4 bottle and took her cellphone, debit card and $5 in cash, said investigators.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for cuts on her head and a laceration on her face.

Investigators released a sketch of the suspect, who is described to be in his 40s and about six feet tall. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing.
