NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Here's the good news: The snow overall will be pretty light from here on out -- even the flurries should mostly be gone by the morning rush.

But a warning: There still could be a heavier burst of snow in a couple of spots, which could have the potential to make things briefly slippery.

And bad news for the kids: NYC public schools will be open on Tuesday. Field trips and after-school activities will continue as scheduled.

School bus routes may experience delays, though.

Here's the outlook:

Tuesday: Icy spots lingering in the morning; brisk and cold with partly to mostly sunny skies. High 39, but Real Feel Temperatures mainly in the 20s.

Tuesday night: Increasing cloudiness. Low 31 in the City; mid and upper 20s in most suburbs; wet and slushy areas will re-freeze.

Wednesday and Thursday: Dry and seasonably cold. Highs in the lower 40s both days.

Friday looks dry, then perhaps some rain or snow showers Friday night into early Saturday morning.

Dry and cold the rest of Saturday with highs in the mid 30s.
