Man killed, 5-year-old daughter injured, after he jumps in front of 4 train carrying child

A 45-year-old man was killed and his 5-year-old daughter was injured Monday morning, after the man jumped in front of a 4 train in the Bronx while carrying the girl, police said. The unidentified man jumped in front of an oncoming train at the Kingsbridge Road station at approximately 8 a.m. MORE

Toddler dies after falling out of window in Brooklyn building

A two-year-old boy who fell out of a sixth floor window in a high-rise building in Brooklyn has died. Parents told police they thought boy was asleep then heard screams. MORE 

Work begins on Islanders' new arena at Belmont Park

The 19,000-seat facility will also include shops, restaurants and a hotel. Work is expected to be completed in time for the 2021-2022 hockey season. Until then, the Islanders will play home games at the Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center in Brooklyn. MORE

Brooklyn Nets unveil redesign of home court at Barclays

The Brooklyn Nets unveiled a new home court Monday at Barclays Center that pays homage to the borough: "Inspired by the borough. Built for the borough," is how the team describes it. It marks the first time the court has been fully redesigned since the Nets moved to Barclays Center in 2012.  MORE
