NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's been an almost steady drip, drip, drip of rain and drizzle since Saturday, and there's more to come.

It's been an ugly Monday in the Tri-State area, with rain and drizzle throughout. Heavier pockets of rain brought a flood watch to the New Jersey suburbs west and south of 287. There was also a coastal flood advisory around the city and a coastal flood warning around Long Island.

This rain has nothing to do with Hurricane Florence, which is churning in the Atlantic and could hit the Carolinas and Virginia by the end of the week. Florence is now a category 4 storm and could bring dangerous surf, strong winds, and beach erosion to the New York area later in the week.
