WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- The Westchester man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the killing of his wife two years ago has been sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

Authorities say 64-year-old Julius Reich stabbed his estranged wife, Dr. Robin Goldman, more than 20 times while she was taking a shower in their Scarsdale home.

However, he expressed remorse Wednesday morning during his sentencing hearing.

“The damage that was caused is unfathomable. I shall bare the guilt forever,” Reich said. “My only hope is that someday my children can find it in their hearts to communicate with me.”

Reich had filed for divorce months before his wife’s death and at the time, police said she had grown fearful of him and had an order of protection issued against him.

Goldman was a pediatrician at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

The couple had three children together.
