Traffic on northbound 12th Avenue near 34th Street had been halted since before 10 a.m. after two beams fell from the crane at a construction project at the Javits Convention Center.

Southbound lanes had reopened at around 6:40 p.m.

It was a frustrating day for sure but luckily nobody was injured.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
