WATCH: Woman with knife, pepper spray goes berserk in NJ Walmart
NORTH BERGEN, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A Bronx woman with a knife went off-the-wall at a Walmart in New Jersey over the weekend, pepper-spraying people and taking a worker hostage before she was collared by an officer, police say.
Carolyn Cuellar told NBC 4 that she was at the Walmart Supercenter in North Bergen on Sunday when the woman started freaking out in the customer service line.
Cuellar says the woman was arguing with a worker before she whipped out a can of pepper spray and blinded at least four employees. She says the woman then turned on her, slamming her into a wall.
“I remember trying to cover my face and I just felt a pull and she yanked me and started hitting my head against the wall,” Cuellar told NBC 4.

The irate woman reportedly flashed a six-inch knife and locked herself in a storage room while holding a Walmart employee hostage.
A police officer eventually got in and grabbed the knife from the woman and collared her, according to NBC 4.
“I didn’t know what happened. I’m like why did this take so long to stop” Cuellar said through tears.
Police confirmed the account of events with NorthJersey.com.
Imani Jones, 39, of the Bronx was being held at Hudson County Jail, according to NBC 4, which reported she faces charges of weapons possession and aggravated assault.
