NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The star of the latest viral video to break the internet? A lemon.

Yes, the yellow citrus fruit.

Mike Sakasegawa of San Diego tweeted on Wednesday a nearly two-minute video of a lemon rolling down a hill for about a quarter of a mile, that's amassed -- get ready for it -- nearly 51,000 retweets and a whopping 182,000 likes.

"Today as I was walking home after my run I saw a large lemon rolling down the hill. It kept rolling for about a quarter mile. And now you can see it, too," he tweeted.

Following his newfound Twitter fame, Sakasegawa tweeted Wednesday, "Hello, new followers. I'm happy you liked my lemon video. Mostly I tweet about art, literature, podcasting, anxiety, and political organizing. I am rarely funny, and I am extremely liberal. If that's not your bag, no hard feelings."

He also shared on Twitter Thursday, "If you want to know how my day is going, one of my coworkers just came into my cubicle and asked me to sign half a lemon and take a selfie with him. This is not typically part of my workday."

As for the fate of the lemon Sakasegawa says he's holding on to it.

"Just to answer a couple questions that have been asked a bunch," Sakasegawa tweeted, "the lemon stopped rolling because we got to the bottom of the hill. The lemon is still intact, in my kitchen, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with it yet."
