NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD is investigating a video which shows a toddler crawl out of a 13th-floor window in the Bronx onto an air-conditioning unit.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Butler Houses on Webster Avenue in Claremont.

The 3-year-old boy was identified by the Daily News as Mohamed Dembila.

Dembila’s mother, Hatoumata Tounkara, 34 said her child has autism and managed to open a plastic part of the AC unit and make his way out while she was preparing dinner.

She said that her teenage daughter pulled the boy to safety.

NYCHA has since put up bars and taken out the air conditioning unit to prevent the boy from crawling out again.

“I was banging on the door … We just rushed inside because they had no idea that the baby was outside,” Jennifer Mares, who took the video, told CBS2.

The Administration for Children’s Services is investigating as well as the NYPD.
