WATCH: Driver backs over pedestrian, drives away leaving her in street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police released video of a driver who backed over a woman in the Bronx, and then drove away.

Police responded on Sept. 22 at about 7:55 p.m. to a 911 call of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian hit in front of 1789 Pitman Avenue.

Police found a 50-year-old women with trauma to both legs.

EMS moved the woman to NYC Health and Hospitals / Jacobi in stable condition.

The woman was trying to cross Pitman Avenue, when a dark-colored pickup truck traveling in reverse, eastbound, hit her, causing her to fall to the ground.

The truck continued to go backwards, causing the tires to drive over the woman.

The truck then fled the scene.
