NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Is Bill de Blasio part chipmunk? Or did he inhale helium before speaking to a convention in Iowa via video?

That's what attendees at the AFL-CIO conference Wednesday were left wondering after a video of de Blasio speaking was shown, with the mayor-turned-Democratic presidential candidate sounding -- umm -- a bit high-pitched. He was supposed to attend in person, but his flight was canceled, he tweeted.

But fear not, it was just a technical difficulty, and the video was replayed without the glitch.

He did have a sense of humor about it, though, tweeting, "A canceled flight can't stop me from sharing my vision for putting unions and working people first (or apparently from auditioning for Alvin and the Chipmunks)."
