NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It was a cold and swift response at "Frozen" on Broadway when an audience member held up a President Trump banner during the musical’s curtain call. And cast member Timothy Hughes immediately snatched it away from him and threw it off stage.

Crystal Sotomayor-Ringhofer was in the audience and shocked by the unexpected theatrics. "It’s upsetting because you’re taken away from the cast members’ moment. I mean they work day in and day out to put on an amazing performance, and a guy wants to run up and steal the show to try to express his political views is just absolutely insane."

Following the performance, Hughes took to Facebook to say, “The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience. I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform.”

Sotomayor-Ringhofer says after Hughes grabbed the banner, the crowd broke out in cheers. But then the curtain call continued as normal. Though the audience member was yelling at Hughes that he owed him five dollars for taking his flag.

She says there’s a time and place for expressing political views, but a Broadway show is just not it.
