WANTED: The necklace-grabbing thief of the 7 train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is on the hunt for a man who has snatched necklaces off the necks of at least seven women at various points along the 7 train.

The suspect is described as a black man, 40-50 years-old; last seen wearing a long sleeved dress shirt, dark jeans and dark colored sneakers with white soles.

The NYPD detailed the following incidents: 

Incident #1: It was reported to police on April 24, 2019 at approximately 1350 hours, on a northbound "7" train, a 30-year-old female victim was sitting down on the train when an unknown male approached the victim and snatched her yellow metal necklace when the doors opened at the 42nd and 5th Avenue stop. The female followed the male up to the mezzanine area asking for her property back. The individual argued back and fled in an unknown direction with the property. The victim sustain no injuries.

Incident #2: It was reported to police on May 6, 2019 at approximately 1440 hours, on southbound "7" train, a 46-year-old female victim was on the train in the last subway car, when an unknown male approached the victim and snatched her yellow metal necklace when the doors opened at the 42nd and 5th Avenue stop. The victim sustained scratches on her chest and refused medical attention at the scene.

Incident #3: It was reported to police on May 11, 2019 at approximately 1340 hours, on southbound "7" train, a 49-year-old female victim boarded the Hudson Yard bound "7" train with her family, when an unknown male snatched her necklace when she was sitting down in the middle of the train and then left down on the train when an unknown male approached the victim and snatched her yellow metal necklace when the doors opened at the 42nd and 5th Avenue stop. The male fled in an unknown direction. The victim sustained no injuries.

Incident #4 (108 Pct.): It was reported to police that on Thursday May 23, 2019, at approximately 1535 hours, aboard a northbound "7" train at the 46 Street subway station, the male individual snatched the 42-year-old female victim's chain off her neck and fled through the station in an unknown direction.

Incident #5 (108 Pct.): It was reported to police that on Friday May 31, 2019, at approximately 1820 hours, aboard a northbound "7" train at the 61 Street/Woodside Avenue subway station, the male individual snatched the 21-year-old female victim's chain off her neck and fled through the station in an unknown direction.

Incident #6 (108 Pct.): It was reported to police that on Friday May 31, 2019, at approximately 1824 hours, aboard a southbound "7" train at the 40 Street subway station, the male individual snatched the female victim's chain off her neck and fled through the station in an unknown direction.
