NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Someone in a car delivered bats to protesters before clashes with police at the Brooklyn Bridge left several NYPD officers injured Wednesday, new video appears to show.

The surveillance video—obtained by the New York Post and taken near City Hall, where protesters have been camped out for weeks—shows a man grabbing six bats from the trunk of the car.

The Post reported, "Police sources said the bats were delivered so the anti-cop activists could confront a 'unity' rally proceeding over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan."

The rally, supported by an NYPD union, included community leaders, elected officials, law enforcement groups and congregants from faith-based institutions.

At least one of the bats was reportedly recovered from the scene after the skirmishes on the bridge, although it’s not known if it or the other bats were used.

Four NYPD members, including Chief of Department Terence Monahan, were injured in the clashes, and at least 37 people were arrested.

Meanwhile, police released video Thursday of a man they say used a cane to strike and injure officers on the bridge.

Protesters demanding the NYPD be defunded have been camped outside City Hall since last month. The protesters have gotten into confrontations with police before, including about two weeks ago, when officers tried to remove barricades the demonstrators had set up.
