NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A video posted to Twitter late Sunday night appears to show an NYPD officer near Union Square pointing his gun at protesters -- it's unclear what the officer is pointing at since it's not in the camera frame -- and it quickly grabbed the attention of New York Attorney General Letitia James.

She responded to the tweet, which was posted by Gothamist reporter Jake Offenhartz, five minutes after he posted it, writing, "Please send this video to us:"

Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed the video at his briefing: "That was absolutely unacceptable," he said.

He the circumstances are not known, but it will be looked into.

He added that the officer should have his gun and badge removed today, but an investigation is underway.

"It is dangerous, it is unacceptable," he said.
