Vermont Legalizes Marijuana For Recreational Use

July 02, 2018 - 9:33 am

MONTPELIER, VT (1010 WINS) -- Vermont has attracted a lot of hippies over the years, and now recreational marijuana is legal in the state.

People over the age of 21 are allowed to possess one ounce of pot, two mature marijuana plants, and four immature plants.

Unlike other states Vermont has not made any arrangements for the legal sale of marijuana so you have to grow it yourself or buy it from a dealer, which is technically still illegal.

It's also illegal to smoke in public, and renters will need permission from their landlord to grow or use it at home.
