JFK Shut Down After Person Made Verbal Bomb Threat

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A verbal bomb threat halted activity at John F. Kennedy International airport early Wednesday.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials said a passenger made a verbal bomb threat at a TSA screening point shortly after midnight.

Police said that terminal 4 departures were delayed while the Emergency Services Unit and K-9 units responded.

The suspect’s belongings and the surrounding area were swept and cleared at around 2 a.m. No threats were found.

The person was evaluated and described as emotionally disturbed. The person was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats and trespassing.
