NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The White House announced on Saturday that the European travel ban has been extended to include the United Kingdom and Ireland -- it will go into effect Monday at midnight.

Under the restrictions, American citizens, green card holders and others are still allowed to return home to the U.S., but will be funneled to 13 airports and be subjected to health screenings and quarantine orders.

Trump also said he is considering domestic travel restrictions "specifically from certain areas," after the Pentagon restricted service members' domestic travel. "If you don't have to travel I wouldn't do it... we want this thing to end," he said.
