Tyson recall

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Time to check your fridge: Millions of pounds of frozen chicken strips have been recalled over contamination fears.

Tyson is recalling almost 12 million pounds of chicken strip products because they might contain metal pieces or other "extraneous materials."

When the recall was first announced earlier this week, company officials said the problem only affected 70,000 pounds of meat – but that number was ramped up significantly on Friday.

The products being recalled all have “use by” dates of Oct. 1, 2019 through March 7, 2020.

For more on the recall, go to the recall page on USDA.gov.
