NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Cops swarmed through the Queensbridge Houses on Thursday morning, and when they were done they had arrested 22 alleged gang members.

After a year in which there were no shootings at the Queensbridge Houses, cops investigated two in 2017, and learned of drug trafficking in the development.

"Crack cocaine was a big part of it, and heroin for the most part," Dep. Inspector Don Boler said.

Boler launched an undercover investigation last year. This year there have been five shootings since January.

"Each shooting for the most part has its own motive behind it. Some have been gang related, some have been domestic related, some we're still investigating," he said.

Four guns were discovered along with stashes of drugs.
