NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump is returning to his hometown Thursday -- and he'll be making a rare overnight stay at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan.

The last time Trump was in the city was last fall's United Nations summit.

Trump is in the city to participate in a 30-minute roundtable with supporters at 6:30 p.m., followed by a joint fundraising committee dinner at 7 p.m.

After the fundraising dinner, he will then head to Trump Tower, where he'll spend the night -- and likely cause havoc on traffic in the area.

The NYPD previously estimated that every day Trump spends in the city costs taxpayers about $300,000. And that figure does not taken into account any extra expenses that crop up because of protests.
