WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump didn't mince words about Bill de Blasio Friday.

While speaking to reporters about the weekend raids Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are slated to conduct in cities nationwide, including New York City, Trump slammed the mayors of sanctuary cities.

He said most of the criticism of the raids is coming from the mayors of those cities, including New York City's mayor-turned-Democratic presidential candidate.

"The mayors in sanctuary cities, a mayor like de Blasio who's probably the worst mayor in the country," Trump said, echoing what he's said in the past.

He continued, "I don't know what his attitude is, nobody does, because he doesn't work very hard. Nobody knows what he does. But a guy like de Blasio probably wouldn't want the raid. Many mayors do. Most do. You know why? They don't want to have crime in their cities or states."

Well, that didn't sit well with de Blasio, who shot back on Twitter, "Wow — @realDonaldTrump is right for once! A guy like me WOULDN’T want to criminalize immigrant communities that have made our country stronger. Keep your hate to yourself — and stay the hell away from the good people of New York City."

He continued, "I know @realDonaldTrump’s too busy dealing with a cabinet that protects criminals to get his facts straight, but we’re the safest big city in America — and that’s because we work WITH our immigrant communities."
