NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump lashed out at reporters Friday during the White House coronavirus briefing.

When NBC reporter Peter Alexander asked the president, "What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?" Trump said, "I say you're a terrible reporter."

"Let me just tell you something," Trump added. "That's really bad reporting. And you ought to get back to reporting instead of sensationalism."

A few moments later, CNN reporter Kaitlin Collins followed up and asked Trump, "Do you really think going off on Peter, going off on a network is appropriate when the country's going through something like this?"

"I do," said Trump.

New York and California residents have been ordered under lockdown to help stop the spread of COVID-19 which has claimed the lives of 10,000 people worldwide.

Trump said, "I don't think so when asked if he would consider a national lockdown."
