PLANO, TX (1010 WINS) -- A 17-year-old in Texas faces terrorism charges.

Matin Azizi-Yarand was pulled out of class on Tuesday and arrested after an FBI informant said the teen had been online discussing a detailed plan for an armed assault in Frisco, north of Dallas.

He was asked if he planned to carry out the attack at the Stonebriar Centre Mall.

"No," the teen responded.

The case has sent a chill through the teen's neighborhood.

"It's scary, I mean we go to Stonebriar all the time," one woman said.

The teen is charged with criminal solicitation and making a terrorist threat.

Authorities say he had sent more than $1,400 to others to buy weapons and tactical gear. They also said he had written a so-called 'Message to America' explaining why he wanted to carry out an attack.
