NEW CASSEL, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- The death of a 16-year-old boy is under investigation on Long Island.

Authorities say the victim, Jordan Harris of Uniondale, was pronounced dead at the hospital after being found with serious injuries on Roman Ave and Costar Street in New Cassel.

According to Nassau County Police it all started with a house party that was advertised on Instagram.

There were about 100 people present, and some of them went out to the street to fight, cops say.

"What we're seeing is three different areas of Nassau County that they came from. They're all followers of each other on social media, so that's how word of mouth got around," Nassau County Police Det Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said.

The dispute escalated, shots were fired, and the Harris was stabbed. A 19-year-old was also stabbed but survived.

His death has been declared a homicide, but so far there have been no arrests.

Cops believe alcohol was involved, but they aren't sure what the fight was about.
