NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police announced on Tuesday afternoon that they had found a 16-year-old girl who was seemingly kidnapped off a Bronx street Monday night -- which prompted a manhunt for four men and an Amber Alert -- but now comes word that she staged the kidnapping to get away from her strict mom.

Karol Sanchez confessed to staging the kidnapping after she was reunited with her family, CBS New York reported

No charges have been filed yet, but police are still searching for those four men. NBC New York reported that the "kidnapping" took place with the help of the teen's boyfriend.

The New York Post reported that Sanchez's mother was planning to relocate them back to her native Honduras, which the teen objected to. The Daily News reported this played a factor in staging the kidnapping.

Sanchez was "found" on the same street on which she was allegedly kidnapped.

"WE HAVE A VICTORY TODAY !! Karol has been found !!! Thank you to all who have worked very hard to track down the people involved in this case !!!" the NYPD's 40th Precinct tweeted.

Police have not yet commented on reports that she staged the attack.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., officials say Karol Sanchez was walking along Eagle Avenue near East 156 Street with her 36-year-old mother, when a tan-colored four-door sedan pulled up and stopped in front of 745 Eagle Avenue.

Authorities say two men exited the vehicle, grabbed the 16-year-old girl, and dragged her inside the sedan while pushing the victim's mother to the ground.

The vehicle was also occupied by two additional men who police say fled east bound on East 156 Street from south bound Eagle Avenue.

Surveillance video released by NYPD shows the mother trying to fight back as Sanchez was taken.

She was left at the scene of the incident, uninjured and refused medical attention.

The NYPD has activated the New York State AMBER Alert at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
